Flyers on the airline are set to use fast wifi in the air free of charge due to a new agreement from Elon Musk's satellite firm.

British Airways revealed that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” wifi service via Starlink becomes accessible to passengers in coach, business, and premium cabins starting soon.

Widespread Deployment Throughout Various Flight Operators

The parent company of BA, the airline group, confirmed it had finalized an deal involving Starlink for providing wifi services on 500-plus jets across their operators, including the Irish airline, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.

Smooth Wifi from Boarding through Arrival

British Airways stated that the rollout for this service formed part of a multi-billion pound “modernization” plan and would deliver uninterrupted wifi service for passengers starting at boarding to arrival, even when traveling over seas or remote regions.

Passengers can hook up multiple electronics while do not have to use a special access code.

Present Connectivity Offerings

Restricted wifi service remains offered to British Airways flyers across most of the airline's aircraft using its .air platform.

Participants in the airline's frequent flyer program can transmit texts and text-only emails onboard at no cost, while travelers looking to watch music, films, and content during their flight if not travelling in premium cabins can expect to pay from £4.99 to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for one internet bundle.

BA's leadership has been working to revitalize British Airways again following years with cost cutting, IT problems, industrial action, plus staff cuts.

Recently, the carrier announced a jump for financial performance during H1 of the year, contributing to the parent company profit upward.

The group is set to report their results covering Q3 from July to September on Friday.
