A person, who was later arrested for reportedly attacking law enforcement with a deli product, engages with Border Patrol and FBI agents.

A US immigration agent has stated under oath he could sense through his body armor the collision of a deli item launched at him by a capital city activist, who has gone on trial for criminal charge.

Customs and Border Patrol agent the officer told the court panel the sandwich "shattered all over him" and he "could smell the aromatic vegetables and mustard" on his uniform.

No party contests that Sean Dunn, thirty-seven, did in fact throw vulgar language and a deli-style sandwich at officers sent by the administration to secure the federal district in August.

The event was captured on video and became popular online, making Mr Dunn a symbol of protest in the federal district to the former president.

Government prosecutors originally tried to achieve felony charges against Mr Dunn, but a legal panel refused to prosecute him.

The former president's assignment of armed forces to Washington DC this warmer months generated outrage from some of the DC citizens, who saw it as a political use of the troops.

Based on legal filings, Mr Dunn approached a law enforcement team at about 11 PM on 10 August, referring to them "extremists" and yelling: "Why are you here? Your presence is unwanted in my city!"

The court observed a reenactment from Mr Lairmore on Tuesday as he took the stand against the defendant.

"I could feel it through my ballistic vest," he said of the sandwich's impact, noting that an aromatic fragment remained from his official equipment and mustard discolored his shirt.

Mr Dunn's lawyer, the defense attorney, said in her court presentation that hurling the food item was a "non-threatening act that did not, could not, create physical damage".

But prosecutor the prosecutor said the accused must be held accountable.

"Regardless of identity, you should not throwing stuff at others because you're upset," the attorney stated.

Subsequent to the alleged assault came to light, the defendant was terminated from his position as a law firm employee in the federal legal agency.
