New England tied their best victory streak from the Brady period as they overcame AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the New England squad secured an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a TD, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win extends the New England's lead at the top of the division as they moved to a 9-2 record, with the New York at the foot after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had gone in front at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a short rushing score to finish the Jets' initial series

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as Henderson scored two short rushing scores before the running back hauled in a throw from Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to make it 21 to 7

"That was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of the rookie. "He desires to be excellent."

Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to close the gap for the visitors but Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side closed out the triumph
